So many of the names listed are good men how about we put Douglas Leroy in the mix. I think he is a proven leader and would bring his experience in World Missions to the Ex Com. Friendly Face

Gen Youth: Lewis
Assistant : Blair

Great choices. Obviously Bro. Lewis will be elected (and rightly so), and I think Blair will be an excellent new assistant.

Why wouldn't he? Why would anyone not want a position where you get paid lots of money to in essence fly around the world the preaching?

I think he should be put on the EC. Remember one member of the EC has the portfolio of "World Evangelization" - and Doug Leroy would be the perfect man for the job!

Post Dennis... Grandpa Cleland
I did not know Brother McGuire from Adam's House cat, but on a whim I called him and asked to come and preach for me. Actually, I face booked him... It was a day later that he called me and said he would love to come.

Since that day, several years ago, he has mentored me, called to check on me, always asks about my family... I am a no body from the no where, but he cares about the small churches and EVERY pastor, regardless of church size.

It was DM who pushed retirement, though small, for pastors who aren't late with church reports.

It was DM who stood up for the DOF.

DM perfect??? Nope. Am I? Nope. I know his heart and I will be voting for him on the first Go round...

Just my Opinion

After we have elected whomever to the committee and God only knows who it will be at this point, don't forget we have one real important position to fill and that is the director of World Missions. I will be casting my vote for Dr. Tim Hill and I have talked with many other pastors who are feeling the same way. It is my understanding that Word Missions desperately needs him. We have to be very careful on the vote for this position. Hey, DOC

Just what is the desperate need? Is there a scandal going on? Financial hurt (since the reduction of the 2.5% to 1.25%, not to mention the economy nationwide)?

Just curious and wanting to make an informed decision.

Face it. It's a brilliant political move.

The Executive Committee carves a hunk out of World Missions financially. The EC gives up hardly anything from their side of the budget. Then, the ranking outgoing EC member (who isn't from a missions background at all makes a play on the WM position because he's visionary and needs a good place to hang out until he can go back on the EC.

Machiavelli would be proud.

Hmmm... so are you saying this is all pure politics??
