The Devil does not care how much we speak-in-tongues, shout, run the isle, be slain in the Spirit... as long as we are not sharing the Gospel in word and deed outside the Church. Further, any form of praise and worship that glorifies or 'brings the focus' on to anything or anyone other than our Savior is not true praise and worship. So many are deceived into thinking that if they have a 'shouting, good time' in Church that all is right with them and God. Simply not true. So many in the Church are deceived. The Bible tells us that some are so convinced that all is right that they will actually argue with the Lord. "Lord, ain't we done this and that in your name?" And Jesus will respond, "I NEVER knew you."
If we are shouting on Sunday Night and gossiping on Monday morning.... we are deceived.
As far as cheerleading... certainly we need to set an example with our own heartfelt praise and worship, but if the folks get 'pumped' for any reason other than truly being awed by the glory and majesty of God... they are deceived.
Let us pray that God will give each one of us a glimpse of His glory and majesty such that we may experience TRUE worship which is the heart-felt expression of our awe of God! |
