I think the day of pro-denomination needs to be pro-Christ Following!

Can't you be both? As long as the denomination places following Christ at the top of its priorities? God knows the COG isn't perfect, but assuming a local body lead by men would be is kinda silly so if you follow your logic to its end-point then every many must do what is right in his own eyes

A local body led by Spirit filled men is the New Testament model.

Titus 1:5 For this reason I left you in Crete, that you should set in order the things that are lacking, and appoint elders in every city as I commanded you--

"set in order"

"appoint elders"

That way of thinking is so old, you may think it's innovative. It's just another way of saying " I want to do my own thing". I've seen it way too much in the Church, and it's always from people who want out of Church. They can slip in this Church and then go to that Church next week. Or not at all. It's just a way of getting out of commitment.
Or it could be you got your feeling hurt. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

You describe many preachers I have known over the years. Many were as wrong as mustard on a 'mater sandwich', but for some it was much more than 'getting their feelings hurt.' they were forced out!

This situation is not a one size fits all, I wish it were. But we have lost honest men, good men and true because of THE 'use' of our form of government. WE have a marvelous system when it is used as it was designed to do, BUT when some men get power in their hands, they wield it like a sledge, rather than in love. Many a good man has been mortally wounded by "THE MAN". Shocked

Post There is Too Much Speculation ... MegaBoss
OTCP and all who read the Post Subject, this is not anti-COG and it is not just a post under a pen name.

It is the idea of being a Christ-Follower .... regardless of what I experienced it does not compare to God's Glory and His Grace in my walk with HIM.

OTCP, knowing you personally and what you have pushed for in the COG kinda surprises me a little with your defense, but that is the very reason for this post. The denomination, fellowship, network, or solo is the avenue by which we share Christ and Him crucified, buried, but alive and at the right hand of the Father.

Come guys and gals, let's go get the lost and build the Kingdom of God!

(check out my page on FB .... more to follow)

The twelve set the Church upon the foundation of Christ.

They succeeded!
