Post The FOUR Different Types Of Overseers (AB's) You Will Meet In The COG News & Views
OK. The article may take a bit of adaptation, but we found it interesting and applicable. How many types of Overseers have you come in contact with? Be nice because most Overseers sincerely want to be a blessing to those under their guidance.

Post I've Been Blessed... Aaron Scott
The first state overseer I "knew" was D.A. Biggs, State Overseer of Florida. I didn't know him, but he projected strength and purpose. I liked him.

I have been fortunate. I dare say that even those State Overseers that were less than great were not abjectly mercenary or the such. Some were just more brusque than others.

The ONLY time I can recall an issue was when my dad (who pastored in Tampa, where the State Office was then) received notification that he was being assigned to Key West. My dad had heard nothing of it until that moment. I would imagine that the overseer might have had a friend that he wanted to place nearby. In any case, my dad called the overseer (he shall remain nameless, though he is no longer alive, for he was, I believe, an otherwise good ang godly man) and said that while he could be forced to go to Key West, he wanted it known that he did not feel that this was what the Lord wanted for him, and that the blood would be on the overseer's hands.

That settled that, and my dad continued pastoring there for, I suppose another 15 years or so.
