Forgive me for running up the score. Just wanted to make it clear that the horror here is a little more widespread than the opinions seen by "CNN fanboys". [Insert Acts Pun Here]

Regardless of the merits of such things on the whole, we owe it to the Kurds to pay back what they have done for us. It is callous and cruel to say "I'd hate to see them killed, but..." when they are allies who have fought and died for our interests in the region -- whether those interests were wise or not.

What they've done for us?

Turkey is trash. It is time they be booted out of NATO. They do not hold to western values.

But with that said, we are in total agreement concerning the quoted text. Turkey has long since overstayed its welcome in NATO.

11,000 SDF fighters died assisting the US in its war against ISIS.

They are holding 12,000 captured ISIS fighters that the US and Europe refused to take.

They agreed, at the US' request, to draw back from the border in exchange for a promise of security and protection. The US is now breaking this vow, and the SDF is particularly vulnerable because they took the US' word and agreed, at the US' request, to draw back.

Anyway, that's what they've done for us. And we made promises to them that increased their risk considerably, in exchange for our word to protect them, which we are now breaking.

The US force protecting the SDF is about 1,000 personnel. It does not represent a commitment to "endless war". And even if it did, keep the promises you made and change the way you operate in the future. This shouldn't be hard.

The ISIS fighters should have been executed. They are not real POW's. The USA summarily executed German Snipers and SS officers in WW2.

Sure, whatever. Doesn't matter one way or the other for this discussion.

What matters is the fact that we gave our word and asked the SDF to compromise their security posture in exchange for our promise to protect them from Turkey, and we need to keep that word.

No one is coming home. No endless wars are ending. Trump announced (immediately following a call with Erdogan) that he's moving 1,000 warfighters from Northern Syria to elsewhere in Syria. It accomplishes nothing except handing the SDF to the Turks.

I fear that his supporters here will have no trouble doing so.

First, it is MANIFEST that Trump is fit to run far more than a lemonade--he demonstrated that long before he ever got to office. He didn't become a billionaire by luck.

What would you have had him tweet: "Nancy is right. I am bad. I deserve to be impeached. I will no be silent while a thousand more slanted stories are printed about me"?

He is going to fight. It's just that he fight's brutally IN THE DAYLIGHT. Other leaders have fought just as fiercely, but behind the scenes, out of the headlines. If Trump did that, the ONLY THING IN THE MEDIA would be negative reports! If there was a fair media, he could do things quietly, hoping to get fair treatment.

That's not going to happen. As far as I'm concerned, I don't like his pettiness, but I say "BULLY FOR TRUMP!" for not sitting there and taking a horrendous beating at the hands of the most evil party in American History.

I personally can't stand Turkey. It seems that Europe has a big problem with them. What will they do?

PS, what will the congress do? Aren't they the ones with war powers? Why should the President give them all the time they need to do nothing but political witch-hunts. Blame all of this on Congress, see what they do.

Mr. Trump will most likely get my vote unless he goes all anti-Christ on us hahaha
A POTUS will be elected next year & I will never stand before my God to give an account to justify voting for a socialist who hates God.
Most liberals hate God, hate morality, hate ethics, hate guns, hate the church & hate free speech.
Probably not a ghost of a chance that any other GOP contender will match popularity and/or wits with Mr. Trump.
He has plenty of flaws & he is not a polished politician but he loves America & he has helped a lot of average people like so many of us.
If I, living in Calif. can have hope for a better tomorrow by voting for him then it should be easy for those of you whose votes really do count, cause my vote won't even show up on the big boards lol

I know I talk a big game here, but it's real easy for me because I live in Maryland and my vote doesn't count either.

I don't know what I'd do if I lived in a battleground state. I truly do not believe I could ever vote for Trump. But the alternative candidates are, for sure, not good choices either.

I have long considered the irrelevance of my vote a burden. Now, it is a relief.
