GLOBAL MINISTRY FORUMS - How are they going ? |
MI6 |
The purpose and intent is printed below from the COG web site.
Question to COG Leadership - How many times to we, the General Assembly, have to say NO before NO means NO ?
WIll The Executive Committee publish a full accounting of the COG money spent producing these forums ?
Will the EC promise that after the 2020 vote (and we vote NO) that there will not be another vote?
Can some one in the COG please share with us WHO is the force behind this never ending push for women in ministry and WHY does it continue to surface?
That open Ministry Forums be conducted globally to provide opportunity for deliberate and meaningful discussion, dialogue, questions/answers and time for spiritual insight regarding the importance and understanding of ministry ranks, qualifications, and women in leadership positions with attention upon the meaning and usage of the title “bishop.†Following the forums, appropriate motion(s) be formulated by the International Executive Council specifically addressing the stated issues and brought to the 2020 International General Council.

The Forums are intended to appeal to ministers and laypersons and every member interested in the future of the Church of God is invited to participate. There are two important steps to do so including 1) completing the survey within this website either online or in person and 2) attending one of the scheduled forum sites. |

There was a post a while back on one of the COG Facebook groups concerning this, and it was shared from someone who would know that it is not COG leadership that is "pushing this." Rather, the requests to address this issue continues to come from "the people" - meaning, I think, the rank and file ministers. It is not just COG leadership that feels this needs to change.
Often the younger ministers today have partners who are not just pastor's wives, but who are also called to ministry. If we reject the wife's call to ministry, how many more ministers will we turn away from our denomination? _________________ "More of Him...less of me."
