Post Does anybody know the history of funerals in the early church? Preacher777
I was thinking about how we do funerals as compared to the traditional Catholic funerals which consists of their Catholic Mass and a eulogy. Does anybody know how (any formal structure or traditions) they did funeral services in the early church after Christ's resurrection and for the next several centuries before the founding of the Catholic Church? Post I found this article which has some good information brotherjames
The didache and a book called the early Christian fathers has writings on the early church but little on funeral practices. I like Jesus' method of dealing with death, bring about a resurrection!!!

Anyway read this http://www.deathreference.com/Ce-Da/Christian-Death-Rites-History-of.html
