QW, you are putting on a clinic on how to discuss this issue in extreme bad faith. You could have shared your personal stories and disputed the merits of the example Cojak raised without making such aggressive personal attacks. You could have discussed the issue in a winsome, loving way that sought as a goal to help Cojak see this issue in, from your perspective, a more constructive and godly way. This started with you misinterpreting Cojak's intention with the single quotes and has gotten much worse from there! [Insert Acts Pun Here]

There is never truly any instance when killing the baby is necessary to save the life of the mother. Live preterm delivery might be necessary, but that is not killing the baby, of course. The idea that abortion should be available “to protect the life of the mother” is just another baldfaced lie the pro-aborts have fed people over the years. Tragically, some are gullible enough to believe it.

There is NEVER a time? Auto wrecks involving the pregnant, gun shot wounds, disease.
I guess you have an answer that suits you, Spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on a family member then come back and tell me.

I won't debate it, presently my heart is racing and I feel sick.

Pray don’t find fault with the man who limps
or stumbles along the road,
unless you have worn the shoes he wears
or struggle beneath his load
There may be tacks in his shoes that hurt,
though hidden away from view,
or the burden he bears, placed on your back
might cause you to stumble too.
Don’t sneer at the man who’s down today
unless you have felt the blow
that cause his fall or felt the shame
that only the fallen know.
You may be strong, but still the blows
that were his if dealt to you,
in the selfsame way, at the selfsame time,
might cause you to stagger too.
Don’t be too harsh with the man who sins
or pelt him with word or stone,
unless you are sure, yea, doubly sure,
that you have no sins of your own -
for you know perhaps if the temper’s voice
should whisper as softly to you
as it did to him when he went astray,
it might cause you to stumble too.

You’re not alone. My sentiments exactly.

That said, should we as His followers support unwed mothers such as taking them into our home and caring for them? Be willing to take one of those babies born? Be willing to give monthly a chunk of our income to those who are adopting?

People have found it easy to be pro-life, but by being pro-life, should we not sacrifice our resources and time as well?

It's hard the wrap my mind around how anyone could read this and think there is any question here as to whether Christians should be pro-life and oppose legalized abortion.

The original question was:
Abortion. Is there a responsibility on we who are Christ-Followers?
Nothing against the author for the question or the thread.

To which I replied:

It's hard for me to believe that as Christians we would even consider the topic (as it comes across from some comments) as if, "should we stand in the way of legalized abortion if we can't afford to feed, clothe & house the babies?"

I see your point Dave & I think you believe I missed it, but I'm responding with the absurdity of it all ...it should be one of our top responsibilities.
Maybe my grammar wasn't used well enough but I fully get it.
I've heard people ask, 'should we get in the way of legal abortions since we as Christians don't offer to feed the newborns & we don't support them ...etc'

So,
Abortion. Is there a responsibility on we who are Christ-Followers?
YES!
