...and all is quiet on the Actscelerate General Assembly discussion front. I was expecting by now that there would multiple lists for the Council of 18, and a lot more discussion about the agenda items. Hmmmm Acts Enthusiast

No need to politic on Acts anymore.

Not enough folks here to sway anything anymore.

Better for the machine if everyone is quiet.

All but 3 of the current council of eighteen are eligible to go back on, so I suspect that will happen, along with Mark Williams and a couple of others. 2020 will be a big turnover. I believe that is when we will see a surge of some of our strong pastoral leaders who have never served make it on!

All of the important conversations are happening on Facebook these days.

Kinda sad for ACTS...

Not much on the Agenda to talk about. I guess we could debate the size of the task forces. :D

Nothing ever materialized on Acts - and Facebook discussions never really got going regarding GA. Perhaps no one cares anymore.

Or there just isn't much on the Agenda to talk about.

Usually some guys tried to fish for a few extra votes for the Council of 18 on here.

But it doesn't appear they see any value in it anymore.

There have been several interesting discussions on Facebook in the Excellent Pastors group and even a few on the COG-Cleveland, TN group. Mostly about women in ministry but also some about the changes re: a requirement that a minister pastor so many years before going into administration...and a couple other things. Lots of good discussion goes on there. I don't say a lot there but do make comments here and there. PB Tim Hill has weighed in on a few discussions, though not much about the Agenda.

I guess the dozen or so folks that still post here don't have a lot of influence on the votes anymore. Hmmm....

I am not campaigning for anyone (and NO...my name isn't on this list). I am not asking anyone to vote for anyone on my list. I just thought I would share who I plan to vote for on the council of eighteen. My strategy in compiling this list is to include mostly pastors, some current council members, some pastors who have never served, international voices, effective state overseers, those who really have a chance of having the votes to go on, and those who have proven to me that they are committed to make the Church of God better. I personally LOVE this list! I think it would be a "dream team." Smile

1. Mark Williams - 31786 (Pastor)
2. Sean O'neal - 37991 (Overseer)
3. Loran Livingston - 20896 (Pastor)
4. Kevin McGlamery - 45242 (Pastor)
5. Ishmael Charles - 30679 (Pastor/International)
6. Travis Johnson - 46978 (Pastor)
7. Joe Dobbins - 59050 (Pastor)
8. David Smith - 47171 (Pastor)
9. Scott Sheppard - 44949 (Pastor)
10. Gary Lewis - 35607 (Overseer)
11. Jason Daughdrill - 62350 (Pastor)
12. Barry Clardy - 41220 (Pastor)
13. Anthony Velasco - 49790 (Pastor/ International)
14. Bruce Rabon - 29097 (Overseer)
15. Rick Whitter - 25782 (Overseer)
16. Tom Madden - 27689 (Overseer)
17. Terry Hart - 23559 (Overseer)
18. William A Lee Jr - 33537 (Pastor)

I'm not sure it ever did.
Except for Travis, no regular Acts poster ever made it onto the 18 - and he made it for his visibility with PCL more than any Acts influence.

Of course it didn't hurt that he is always great at what he does, as well, but the visibility in Cleveland helped - which seems to be the deciding factor to get voted on. There are some pretty good pastors without a Cleveland connection that never make it very far in the voting.

Bill Isaacs posts here on occasion & used to post more often. But it looks like he is not presently on the Council of 18.

I'd add Tom Sterbens to this list, too, though he might still be reprimanded for his interaction here.
