Pastors, do you have this person in your church? |
Da Sheik |
I've had at least one of these in almost every church that I've ever served in. I'm talking about that person who always has a book they want you to read, or a ton of e-mails they forward you that you simply "must see".
And they are almost always about some controversial or conspiracy subject. For these individuals, the bible is simply not enough. |

In my experience, that type of person is usually a “Christian TV†junkie as well. I fairly regularly discourage, from the pulpit, my folks from just accepting whatever they hear somebody say on TBN or Daystar (or from any preacher, including me) and do my best to encourage them to be like the Bereans. |

I’ve never made that correlation before, but now that you mention it...yes!!!
I knew the answer before I posted this thread, but sometimes it’s good to know your brethren are sharing in the sufferings |

These people are usually social media “junkies†too. Always “sharing “ something controversial. |

I heard a preacher mention 'the Illuminati' in one of his sermons. We discussed the topic at one point. I told him I was a bit skeptical that atheists who organized the French revolution, the Jesuits, the pope, Jewish banking families, and the royal families of Europe, and various pop stars would all be in cahoots in some plot together. I may have had a slightly different list of alleged co-conspirators. I asked why the Devil would have to let people in on a conspiracy about his plans to lead people astray. He didn't really have an answer. _________________ Link

This is bot limited to pastors of course. However some of my 'senders' are great people who are very misdirected or prone to BELIEVE all conspiracy theories. As an individual, NOT a leader I can ignore them much easier than you pastors. Most of my friends are well meaning, but twisted a little. I try not to hurt their feelings, most times I can just ignore the e-mails.
I feel for you guys, I guess we take the good with the bad. I do enjoy the internet, but it has its drawbacks. Just smile when it hurts! _________________ Some facts but mostly just my opinion!
