Yep, the legitimacy of the academic degrees you claim/list/tout matters!

Post Ouch! Hard ball ... Mat
From the article:

"The Mountain Press began investigating Baker’s credentials after receiving an unsigned letter saying he didn’t have the academic credentials required for his position."

Ouch! Hard ball being played.

No one knows who sent the letter. It didn't even have a return address on it. Just the recipient's address, a stamp, and a Pikeville postmark.

Somebody sent an unsigned letter, but it wasn't the ole timer. The article is from 2013. I had never heard this story until someone posted it in the thread started by Aaron on Degrees/Credits.

Post Nature Boy Florida
So everyone kept their job even after having a secular investigation proved the degrees were a sham?

The person in question was not left in the same job. Per the paper, he was moved to a position requiring no degrees. But, he is "immediately working toward an accredited degree." Now this was in 2013, so he should have at least one real degree now.

Wow... this makes me remember that former house parent at the Florida youth ranch glen. A friend of my called him up the other day you would not believe the claims.... I think I it would be interesting for him to share his story on actscelerate. I think his YouTube video was done out of anger. I think he regrets the video. Otcp if you want Glenn’s contact info I know someone who has it.

No idea what you're talking about here, but just to be clear, my statement about the Pikeville postmark was just a joke to poke fun at OTCP. I know nothing about the anonymous letter that was sent.

I knowed it was, Dave. OTCP has never sent a anonymous letter in his life--to anybody.

An this thread was not started to slam the Smokey Mtn Children's Home, they do a good work. It is solely about a feller what tried to pass off two unaccredited worthless degrees as legitimate, got caught, an the same thing should happen to ever preacher/pastor in the COG what is doin the same thing.

Post Dissociative Identity Disorder Mat
OTCP,

Since many posters here on Acts suffer from Dissociative Identity Disorder (multiple personalities - screen name personas), are you sure one of your "other selves" did not do this and OTCP just does not know about it?

Just sayin', anything is possible on Acts.

Mat, I suffer from neither DID or DD.

Ummm, let me see how I can say this an get the message across.

1. Numerous times I have posted on Acts stating that I post using only pen name---OTCP.

2. I post under no other pen names besides OTCP.

3. OTCP is a parody of paradigmatic proportion that needs no other pen names.

4. Nobody else posts as OTCP except me.

PS, I did post, some 13 years ago for a few weeks, under the name Homer. But when I began proclaiming myself king of the world, hey, folk knowed it was their beloved Homer Tomlinson so I immediately retired the pen name. Mr. Green

Post Why not some "kings"? Mat
Why not some "kings"? You can't swing a dead cat now-a-days without hitting a bunch of bishops, apostles, prophets and doctors, not to mention the arch-bishops. I bet all those boys (and some girls) wish they had the media savvy Homer had. Trying to dress like a biker, or a hipster is so yesterday, so why not a "king and queen" of the church (and parsonage).

Wolf on church street lol. I think John Goodman or Jack Black would be great in the role.

Have any of you folks seen Bernie it is on Netflix. It is about this baptist undertaker who was also a quartet singer that murders the meanest women in town. It is hilarious and based on a true story. I still shocks me that Jack Black sings love lifted me

Here is an article on Homer Tomlinson. It is From the Cleveland daily banner. Read it if you want to brush up your studies on crazy religious groups.

http://clevelandbanner.com/stories/cleveland-native-is-no-2-on-list-of-unusual-presidential-candidates,46323

Also David Roebuck from the Pentecostal Research Center needs to share more knowledge on this story. I think it would very informative.
