Dear our Brethren.

Praise the Lord.

We take time to tell you that we read your website together with our congregations, and we are blessed so much with your teaching you preach, after reading your teachings, we are decided to follow you and working with you direct through your Church name ------------------- in Africa, we have 3 Church in Kenya and 1Church in Tanzania, we are requesting you to add us in your Church list.

we are happy to work as one team together with you. May you feel free to come to teach our members for some days?

Yours Pst Charles Owino Ogutu

Do you get emails like this? If so, what do you make of this? It just seems strange to me. Almost like the "we have billions and gazillions of dollars to give to you..." type. Except I think this might lead to more, "send money to help us" than we have money for you.

Thoughts?

I have received several similar private messages on Facebook. I also regularly receive private Facebook messages asking me to send money to support orphanages in places like Africa, India and Pakistan.

I regularly support missionaries whom I know personally. I do not feel that I can support any missionaries whom I don't know personally. I used to try and explain why I cannot give anything to missions I don't have a relationship with, but found such efforts to be futile. I just ignore them now.

My feelings and frustrations also. Somehow that approach has always seemed logical to me. I have no problem with folks who would close their eyes and use the scatter gun approach, but I feel I am obligated to be wise in giving, I feel at peace with it. Cool
