Post Is it impossible to guard against Pedophiles in the Pulpit? Cojak
Headlines from Knoxville, TN:
2 pastors among group of men arrested for seeking sex with underage girls.

NO it was not COG (Thank God). But as I read it I was wondering how is it possible to securely guard against this in a church?

We hold our children sacred, the adult church of tomorrow. So many priests have been charged with this crime, I am sure we are not immune.

I can remember in NC about every large 'sting' caught at least one minister. I knew one personally and it hurt. I would never have thought it.

I am asking because I do not know, Are there any safe guards? Shocked

I am really talking about before the discovery, before they are hired or appointed to a church. I am talking PREVENTION, Preventative maintenance.

Naturally the human feeling is to take revenge if it is your daughter, son or grand kids. I believe in forgiveness here also (it is much easier if it is some one else's family involved.). But I also believe in punishment that fits the crime, what ever it is.

The question was serious, is it possible to KNOW? Do we really believe in seeking and following God's will? Do we believe God knows this guy or gal is a pedophile and can reveal it to us? Do we believe we can be warned, maybe not to the exact danger, but to A DANGER?

This type is ONE MORE stone or ammunition against the BODY OF CHRIST on earth, used by the enemy! Embarassed

Let your three year old be abused by a pedophile, you will be speechless.

My mom was talking about a preacher in Atlanta who used to be COG whose relatives accused him of all kinds of nasty things.

I suppose a church could have some safety policies that apply to pastor as well to other members, like not having a church worker in the bathroom alone with a child. If nothing else, it protects people's reputations.
