It's sad to see Cruz and Rubio grasping at straws like this. Maybe Trump pledged loyalty to Don Vito Corlioni in that interview as well. Rolling Eyes

But if, as the article says, it is a piece of leverage for future negotiations, then any softening would ruin those negotiations.

It's about like me releasing information that I really will take far less for my for-sale car than I had clearly indicated. That information would ruin my position.

Art of the deal. I've been saying this all along about Trump's immigration plans. Rubio should be thrilled that Trump might let his "gente" stay. But the trade-off will be...no citizenship ever, no anchor babies. And the wall will still be built.
