But my question is how do you go from libertarian principles of hands-off, liberty first, to a guy who thinks Apple should have to give out a back-door to the government for ALL future phones (just to cite yesterday's example out of many possible)

I don't agree with him on Apple. I don't agree with Trump on ethanol either. But he and Cruz now are the only two who care at all about actually preserving the USA.

That's good to know. For me, this is a major red-flag as to what kind of "conservative" he has fashioned himself into. It may be the single biggest issue for me (and there are many). It says a lot about his real intentions.

Even Sean Hannity thinks Apple should do that as their "patriotic duty". It's another slippery slope, and I think Tim Cook is right in defying the court on this.

Trump is not a conservative. He can act like it all he wants, but I just don't buy it.
