Is hypnosis demonic? |
Ernie Long |
My wife works at a Presbyterian church and the pastor told her that he practices hypnosis when he gets stressed because it relaxes him. He also told her he can hypnotize people without them knowing it. He went on to tell her he is going to teach hypnosis to his church.
I told her it's time for her to look for another job.
Do you or do you know any other pastor that practices this? |

Hypnotism, yogi, etc., when practiced in their fullness, can be open doors into the spiritual realm. Not the Holy Spirit. |

Hypnosis is a proven help in many cases. Not everyone can be hypnotized.
In reference to the OTCP, I guess I am just ignorant. I have known MANY people who practiced YOGA as a stretching exercise. It is well proven and documented to be one of the best exercise in the world. In every case I have known NO ONE considered it as a 'spiritual thing' Just an exercise. I have found I can think of Jesus and his love and teachings and in that way have a wonderful spiritual experience while doing the exercises.
My problem is I cannot stay with it and 'backslide'. _________________ Some facts but mostly just my opinion!

Many people do not understand what hypnosis is. Really, it is just changing someones awareness or state of perception. It happens all the time - we are tranced out when we are driving, watching TV, engaged in a sermon, or even at an alter call and under the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
I think most good communicators use "hypnosis" to some degree without even realizing it.

I hypnotize folks every week in church. It's amazing how they spring back to consciousness after the last "amen".
Honestly I don't know enough about it, but I have always erred on the side of caution. |

Notice I said when "practiced in their fullness." Yogi is based in Eastern religious thought, an hippotizin is playin with a fellers mind in ways that aint the Holy Spirit. |
