We are told the story about Missions Department closing is not accurate |
doyle |
Some research has been done into a claim made by a poster that there are plans to close the COG Missions Department. We are told, from here-to-fore very reliable sources that the poster has received information that is not accurate.
Have there been discussions on how to improve World Missions, how to increase it's effectiveness, or possibly even adapt some newer models for the future? We would be surprised if that is not the case. Times and world situations are always in a state of flux. Wise leaders would want to find ways to be more effective. However, we are told that there are no plans to close World Missions.

Thank you, Doyle. I spoke only to a couple of people who are involved in mission work. They pointed out the number of missionaries leaving the field because of lack of support and lack of younger people on the field. There was despair in their hearts. I am glad you could guarantee that the Church of God will continue to send out missionaries. Thank you again for setting the story straight. |

Church of God World Missions has had an amazing financial turnaround under the current leadership. Despite the reduction of the tithe of tithe over the last eight years, World Missions had unprecedented giving over the last general assembly term. World Missions is strong. Wherever you are hearing such information is incredibly and categorically wrong! |
