Post World War III? Eddie Robbins
Are we at the beginning of it? The problem is identifying the enemy. They are all around us now in this country. This is going to be very challenging. Acts-pert Poster

And that is an understatement. Our military up until Nam, were used to fighting an enemy in uniform. One who would drop their weapons and lift their hands when death was the only other option. Now, how do you fight someone who would use an eight year old boy or girl loaded with explosives.

How do you defend against someone who 'plans to die and take you with him?' Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

I think it's very possible -- but, we'll live through it. WW3 has always had a very apocalyptic overtone to it in all of our minds, for good reason, but I think it's very likely this could turn into a global war (meaning that it involves multiple powers as belligerents on each side) but very unlikely that it would be nuclear or world-ending. (Not to diminish how very bad a global war could be.) [Insert Acts Pun Here]

The other thing is that identifying the enemy wouldn't be hard if, God forbid, things do escalate further. A broader application of the Bush doctrine (if you harbor terrorists we're going to treat you like a terrorist nation) would draw the lines pretty quick. [Insert Acts Pun Here]

Eddie, If the enemy is in our land - what should we do? Kill them?

In a war, you either take out the enemy or capture them.

In a war, you either take out the enemy or capture them.

In this case, the former method will be most appropriate.
