I haven't noticed it either.

But I can't help but wonder what Resident Skeptic is implying.

I think he was simply saying that if Republicans are wanting to tap into the black vote, they should be impressed that Trump has been able to garner such a large percentage of their support relative to the small amount the Republican nominee usually gets.
Of course, it's a long time before election day. I'm not sure how well these early polls will match what voters ultimately decide.

What gets me is we have so many Republicans obsessing over how we can tap into the black vote, yet the fact that Trump currently has 25% black support does not phase them.

This is part of the problem that separates us. Why not tap into the American vote and leave the racial divide out of it.

Wouldn't that necessitate more blacks voting Republican? Call it what you want but how do you make it happen (the "tap into American vote" idea)?

At a meeting of the RNC a couple of years back, they stressed two goals above all else...

Getting more of the black vote.

Making in-roads in New England.

Ah, OK. Well, a diversity of voters is great. I'm encouraged that, here lately, this diversity seems to me to be a little more reflected in the field of strong candidates. I would like to believe that qualified candidates from different ethnicities are increasingly feeling more comfortable stepping forward. But qualifications and political positions should be a major factor in voting.

I should have said
